Intimate Choreographies – Rencontre Internationale: a Romanian Performative Intervention Premiering in France

The concept, developed under the artistic direction of choreographer and curator Andreea Căpitănescu, revolves around the idea that surveillance spaces can surprisingly foster a deep emotional intimacy that transcends the unequal authoritarian structure of technology.

Through poetic fragments written and recited by the artists, this performative intervention aims to connect with ourselves and others regardless of how the urban environment may divert or prevent us from creating deep and real connections. The intervention involves an individual audio system (headphones and receiver) accessible to each participant.

The artists of the performance, Judith State, Flavia Giurgiu, and Elena Vlădăreanu, will guide participants through shared choreographic actions while also incorporating moments of individual reflection experienced simultaneously.

Intimate Choreographies - Rencontre Internationale will close out the festival week on September 30th, starting from 7:00 PM, as part of the "Host to Host" program conceived by artists Marie Clauzade and Marion Coutarel. The performance will take place at MAS DES BROUSSES, an 18th-century building that has been uninhabited for 10 years and will come to life with the help of twenty artists.
