The cultural project Zoom In/Out. Immaterial performance, organized by 4Culture in partnership with the Romanian Order of Architects (Bucharest branch), the National Heritage Institute, the European network Life Long Burning and 2020 Bucharest Architecture Annual, invites contemporary artists to take part to a visual research on living and on the effects that the absence of the direct contact with the outer space, like public square, office or nature, have on the perception of time and body.
In times when the routine of a program, that keeps the time-space relationship in the same note like we were used to, by providing precise landmarks, is expanding, by making room for a gray perception area, the project proposes an artistic introspection approach on our position in society, on the roles we play and on the absurd of living when space becomes singular.
Together with a group of visual artists and performers, these and other questions will be translated into practices that aims to modify or even change what determines the body ecology and the experience of living, in a series of works that spread a message of hope and that things can be different.” (Andreea Capitanescu, curator)
The artists invited to the project are active in the performing arts field, cinematography and visual arts: Ilinca Harnut, Diana Spiridon, Flavia Giurgiu, Geta Corca, Vlad Benescu, Alexandru Mihai, Emil Ivanescu, Diana Paun.
The performing spaces are contemporary works realized by Romanian architects and awarded by international juries within the Bucharest Architecture Annual.
