Celebrating Trouble. In Light Of
Enkidu Khaled and the 4Culture Association: A Cultural Exchange with STUK
Enkidu Khaled, a theatre maker and performer born in Baghdad and based in Brussels, participated on behalf of the 4Culture Association in a cultural exchange with STUK House for Dance, Image and Sound. STUK is an international arts center that connects artists and audiences across generations, focusing on contemporary dance, visual and audiovisual arts, sound art, and innovative music. The institution emphasizes education, science, and heritage, fostering an open, investigative attitude toward societal and artistic development.
Celebrating Trouble: Enkidu Khaled’s Workshop in Timișoara
In 2023, Enkidu Khaled was invited by the 4Culture Association to lead the Working Method laboratory as part of the „Celebrating Trouble – Choreographic Convention,” a key program of Timișoara’s European Capital of Culture initiative. Held between September 26 and October 7 at the Centrul de Proiecte in Timișoara, this interactive artistic workshop welcomed participants from the performing arts field with interdisciplinary interests.
The workshop culminated in a public presentation, showcasing a collective creation developed through Khaled’s Working Method.
Building on his involvement in the Celebrating Trouble – Choreographic Convention, Enkidu Khaled is currently undertaking a residency at STUK House for Dance, Image, and Sound as part of the ongoing Celebrating Trouble. In Light Of program.
This project is part of the national cultural programme „Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023” and it is funded through the Legacy Timișoara 2023 programme, implemented by the Center for Projects Timișoara, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
